Synopsis
In the early 1600s, a young lady named Anne, whose mother was suspected of witchcraft, develops affection for an elderly woman named Marte, who is accused of witchcraft. Pastor Absalon, Anne’s older but sympathetic husband, saved her mother, but now, spurred on by his domineering mother, he refuses to aid Marte. When Absalon’s son returns home and falls for Anne, it’s just a matter of time until her family’s fate catches up with her.
