Max and the Junkmen 1971

Max is a Paris investigator who is distant, self-sufficient, and frustrated by robber groups he cannot apprehend. To re-establish his status and preserve face, he organizes a bank robbery with a crew of minor crooks (headed by an old acquaintance). A hesitant captain gives Max with intelligence, and Max begins spending evenings with Lilly, a prostitute who is the group’s leader’s lover. He pretends as a wealthy banker with unlimited funds and pushes Lilly to consider her future. He alluded to a paycheck that goes via his bank. The plan works, the small criminals believe they’re ready for a huge score, and the cops are ready. What could possibly go wrong with Max’s cold strategy? Who is trapped?
