Synopsis
This silent-era classic depicts the story of a hopeless but eventually canonized 15th-century youthful warrior. Jeanne d’Arc is exposed to cruel treatment and intimidation tactics by church court authorities while on trial for saying she had spoken to God. After being pushed into modifying her tale, Jeanne finally chooses what she believes to be the truth. Her sentence, a notoriously horrific death, awards her eternal martyrdom.
