Synopsis
The old Shukishi and his wife, Tomi, go from their modest beach hamlet to Tokyo to see their adult children. Their elder son, Koichi, a doctor, and their daughter, Shige, a hairdresser, don’t have much time to spend with their elderly parents, so Noriko, the widow of their younger son who was killed in the war, is left to entertain her in-laws.
